If years of dental problems have piled up, you can have complex restorative work done while you relax. With sedation, multiple procedures can often be completed in a single visit, and you’re met with understanding, not criticism.

What a full-mouth reconstruction involves
Complex restorative dentistry is a treatment plan with several procedures to rebuild your oral health, completed over one or several visits. Depending on your needs, it can include tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, crowns and bridges, deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) and soft tissue grafting.
Some people call this a “train wreck” smile. The term isn’t meant to be judgmental. It simply describes a mouth that needs significant attention after care has been delayed, whether life got busy, finances were tight, or fear took over. Our focus is on solutions, not on how the situation developed in the first place.
Is a full-mouth reconstruction for you?
You’ve put off dental care for years and the work has piled up
You smile with your lips closed or avoid photos
Severe dental phobia or past dental trauma keeps you away
A strong gag reflex has made dental work difficult
Local anesthesia alone has never kept you comfortable
You’d rather get it done in fewer visits
How sedation helps with reconstruction
Under sedation, you rest in a deeply relaxed state while we work, and a three-hour appointment can feel like it lasted only minutes. That makes longer appointments possible, so more of your treatment plan is completed per visit and you reach your goals sooner. Sedation can also make a strong gag reflex easier to manage, and IV sedation gives the team precise control, adjusted to how you respond.
Unlike oral sedation, which requires patients to swallow a pill and wait for it to take effect, IV sedation works almost immediately, because the medication bypasses the digestive system and enters the bloodstream directly. Depending on your needs, you’ll be offered oral, IV, or both.
With the amount of surgery and reconstruction that I had to undergo, I would probably not have been able to go through it without sedation. It was very nice, easy, and painless. Dr. Kim’s team made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire process.

Your reconstruction, step by step
1
Step 1: A full evaluation
It starts with your free consultation. We review your medical and dental history and your X-rays, talk through your goals, and build a plan that includes the right level of sedation.
2
Step 2: Treatment days
You rest comfortably while we work. Heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen levels are tracked throughout, and the team can adjust IV sedation as needed.
3
Step 3: Going home
You stay monitored until you’ve recovered sufficiently, then a responsible adult drives you home, because sedation can affect coordination and judgment for several hours.
Often, yes. Because you are relaxed and comfortable, we can usually complete more treatment per appointment, so many patients finish in fewer visits.
Will I be judged for letting things go?
No. We welcome patients regardless of their current dental condition, and the focus stays on solutions, not on how the situation developed.
Will I be asleep during treatment?
Not in the way you would be under general anesthesia. Conscious (“twilight”) sedation puts you in a deeply relaxed state. You can still respond to your name or a gentle touch, but most patients drift off and remember very little of the visit.
How much does sedation dentistry cost, and how can I pay?
Your consultation is free, and if you need a panoramic X-ray, it is complimentary. Sedation has a separate fee, which is typically much lower than what other anesthesia providers charge. We offer third-party payment plan options. We are not a Medicaid provider.
When years of dental problems pile up, IV sedation makes extensive restorative work manageable, with longer, calmer appointments and understanding instead of criticism.
Implants and reconstruction mean long, precise procedures. Why IV sedation’s fast onset, adjustable depth and little memory of treatment suit them best.
